What is Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration?
Based on the belief that Jesus is really and truly present in the Eucharist that is consecrated during the Mass, Eucharistic Adoration is the devotion of adoring Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. This begins in the Mass with adoration by genuflecting or bowing to the tabernacle where the reserved Eucharist is kept, gazing upon the Eucharist during the consecration, and receiving the Eucharist in our bodies during Holy Communion. It then extends beyond the Mass in a holy hour with the Rite of Exposition and Benediction, and many parishes offer Eucharistic Adoration during an extended period of some amount of limited hours on select days.
At Queen of Peace we have hours available Monday to Sunday, if you would like to take a specific time in our adoration chapel please call the office at 713-921-6127.
