The Companions of the Cross was founded in 1985 by Rev. Robert Bedard, CC. In 2003 we were established as a Society of Apostolic Life.
We are a community of Catholic priests inviting people to know Jesus and empowering them to share Jesus.
“I see the Church waking up and coming explosively alive to the point where it, with the power of the Holy Spirit, will shake the earth and the nations with its dynamic presence. (Fr. Bob Bedard: Evangelization-A Challenge for the Catholic Church, pg. 10)”
Our priests preach the Word of God with passion, celebrate the sacraments with devotion, and lead with confidence.
We are a multicultural Church with active members from every continent of the world. We pray and celebrate in over 14 languages in 146 parishes. We participate in activities of social justice, support the good works of persons in other countries, prepare our children and young people to be responsible members of the community — and we do all this in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Today, more than 1.7 million Catholics live within the boundaries of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, making it the diocese with the largest Catholic population in the state of Texas and the fifth largest in the United States.
The Archdiocese is led by Daniel Cardinal DiNardo, archbishop of Galveston-Houston.
Vocations Office
Through the sacrament of baptism, God calls each one of us personally and uniquely. The Office of Vocations promotes a favorable climate for vocations on all levels.
We collaborate with groups such as parish vocation committees, catechists, youth ministers, Catholic schools, the Family Life Office, Serra clubs, Knights of Columbus, Catholic Daughters of America and others.
